Podcast: Confidence and Negotiation with Colleen Gratzer

In this interview, thanks to Colleen, I talk about dealing with bullies, getting paid in advance, the three-step close, thinking of negotiation as a research project, and replacing change orders with iteration fees. Along the way, Colleen shares her experience and insights as well, making it a lively discussion.

Listening to it, I can hear my own vulnerability. Despite years of experience as a creative and as a coach to creatives, I have self-doubts. Self-doubts despite the knowledge that my advice has helped many creatives (maybe thousands at this point) and that the methods I use and advise work.

Once again, those pesky feelings that affect us all surface in me as I listen. But on the plus side, the points made in the discussion reminded me of how I learned to appreciate my feelings for what they were and use them to guide my next steps.

If you listen to the podcast, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
