Free Zoom Mentor Morning: Virtual Networking
Do you find yourself afraid to take the first step? Do you feel like you’re not naturally outgoing, making it doubly hard to network?
You may think I’m a natural at this. But I’m not. I’ve always found it difficult to reach out, especially to strangers.
I’ve found that my networking fears are not that much different from pre virus days: I’m afraid that people will think I’m desperate, and that they will think I’m needy.
Worse, even before I’m focused on what others will think I start downing myself by thinking that I’m really not very good. My tech skills aren’t up to snuff. That my past successes were flukes. That I really don’t have much to contribute.
Is that enough of a downer for you? Here I am writing this and believing every word on my failings as I write. Sound familiar?
Together, lets focus on creating a list of straightforward tips from our virtual networking experiences to date. Tips we can share with each other on reaching out and picking up connections without the benefit of face-to-face interactions.
