Mentor Mornings: Branding in the age of cat videos

What makes a successful brand in the 21st century? What does a successful brand designer do in 2018 and beyond to be valuable to clients and produce results?

I recently got recruited into helping a client with a branding gig. Which got me to thinking about brands and what they mean in the age of brand resistance. As you probably know current research is showing that millennials are avoiding brands. So just like old times branding is on my mind and I’m wondering if and how branding concepts are relevant in this era.

Branding. That’s what we’re going to talk about at Mentor Morning this coming Saturday.

Questions we’ll address include…
-What can we learn from the success of cat videos?
-How do micro businesses brand for success?
-Why are national brands losing market share to store brands and what does that mean to us creatives who create brands for a living?
-What’s the best way to prove the case for creating or recreating a brand?

Bring your thoughts, stories, successes and failures. As always, let’s all learn from each other.
