Mentor Morning: Case studies purposely obscure

Case studies suck. Why? Case studies purposely obscure the story to avoid endangering client relationships or embarrassing anyone. They are written by consultancies to show off. To brag about complete and unparalleled success. Clinical, antiseptic language is used to obscure and tidy the messy and often fraught nature of real work.

What can we do about this? I believe we should turn to the techniques of good narrative and great fiction, changing names and details to protect our clients and ourselves.

That’s what we’re going to talk about on Saturday, November 3rd.

Bring your thoughts and notable case studies good and bad.
